Personal Statement
Professor Andreas Lixl grew up in Austria where I attending the University of Vienna. "I transferred to the University of Wisconsin in Madison where I received a Ph.D. in German Literature and Culture with a dissertation on Expressionismand the Weimar Republic. My scholarship and course development focuses on German language, literature, and culture, including interdisciplinary campus seminars, distance learning consortia, and fully online courses".
Selected Professional Achievements
Professor of German in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, received research support from foundations here and abroad for publications on central European literature and culture, migrant memoirs, digital language exhibits (see DeutschTrails) and online pedagogy (see Digital Languages).
