Research/ Teaching Interests

Media Theory, European Avant-garde, German Idealism, Technology and Literature.

Personal Statement

In my research I focus on the intersection of science, technology and literature from the eighteenth century to the present. I worked mainly on the media experiments of the European avant-garde, but also published on authors such as Franz Kafka, Heinrich von Kleist, or Jules Verne. In my teaching, I cover a wide array of topics from classes on German pop culture and literature to classes on eighteenth and nineteenth century German thought.
