Personal Statement
I find teaching a foreign language very rewarding because it allows me to provide students with a useful communication tool. As students become more proficient in Spanish, I also have the opportunity to observe their growing awareness of the diversity of Hispanic cultures, followed by interest and appreciation for cultures different from theirs. During the Study Abroad Program, I found it rewarding to see students participating in the culture of Spain, living that which before they had only read about or seen on the screen.
