Support for young researchers

Contingent upon receiving NSF funding, we will provide to support a limited number of young researchers (students and post docs) who attend one of the two workshops and present a paper at the conference. Preference will be given to women and minority researchers. If you wish to apply for this award, please send your Application directly to Professor Sat Gupta by email at The deadline is August 31, 2014 but we will start offering these awards as we receive the requests. So, send in your application as soon as possible.

Your application package must include the following:

  1. A one-page research statement that includes your research activity. If you are a student, you should include the name of the research advisor, and a signed endorsement by your research advisor.
  2. Abstract of your proposed talk must be uploaded for your application to be considered.
  3. A completed Application Form.
Please do not register online and do not send us a check until a decision on your application has been made. If you are selected for the award, your registration fee will be waived. You may also get single or shared accommodation at the conference hotel for 1-3 nights.

If you get some travel award also, you will be reimbursed after the conference. Your award letter will give you detailed information. The average value of each award, including travel, hotel and registration cost, will be limited to approximately USD500.
