Mathematics Program at UNCG

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UNCG offers B.S and B.A degrees in Mathematics, as well as the M.A. degree in Mathematics. Students pursuing the B.S. degree may select tracks in pure or applied mathematics, bioinformatics, or interdisciplinary studies in mathematics. There are also concentrations available for students whose primary interest is teaching mathematics at the K-12 levels. The M.A. has tracks for pure or applied mathematics.

In addition to teaching, mathematics majors find a variety of career opportunities in the government and financial industries, as well as support positions for engineering and scientific research. Undergraduate majors often use their training in rigorous thinking as a background for graduate studies in areas such as engineering, finance, and computer science.
