Breaking News -- May 27, 2008. Dr. Sastry Pantula of North Carolina State University was elected 105th President of American Statistical Association. Congratulations to Dr. Pantula! [Full Story] Dr. Pantula is the head of the Department of Statistics, and director of Institute of Statistics, North Carolina State University. His research is in the area of testing for unit roots in time series models, involving 1) testing for trends in correlated data, 2) linear and nonlinear mixed and random coefficient models and 3) spatial Statistics. He also has interest in Industrial Statistics and have offered several short courses on statistical quality control. He is members of Biometric Society, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, International Statistical Institute, Institute of Mathematical Statistics, IISA, ICSA, and a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. |
