All UNCG RMSC presenters are invited to submit papers to the conference proceedings that will appear as the inaugural issue of the electronic open access journal North Carolina Journal of Mathematics and Statistics The deadline for paper submission is March 31, 2015, details about submission are posted here.

The 11th annual UNCG RMSC will be held on Saturday November 7, 2015. More details will be posted towards the end of August 2015.

UNCG-RMSC is an annual one day conference promoting student research in mathematics, statistics, and their applications in various fields. The 2014 conference was held on Saturday, November 1, 2014.

The following students (presented in alphabetical order) have won the award for the outstanding student presentation:

  1. Graguate student category

    2. Noah Hughes, Appalachian State University
    3. Jia Zhao, University of South Carolina
  2. Undergraguate student category
    1. John Cruickshank, UNC
    2. Saniita FaSenntao and Kaleigh Mulkey, Kennesaw State University
    3. Nicole Soltz, Elon University

The conference featured contributed undergraduate and graduate research talks (15 minutes in length) and an invited talk by
Dr. Jerome Goddard II
aimed at a general mathematics and statistics audience. Session topics for the contributed talks include but are not limited to

  • Mathematical Biology,
  • Biostatistics
  • Computational Mathematics, and
  • Statistical techniques.
Student talks from all areas of mathematics and statistics are welcome.

Registration is free and open to the community, including high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, high school teachers, and university and college faculty. The deadline for registration and abstract submission is October 11, 2014.

Modest travel support is available. To apply for travel funds, check the appropriate box on the registration form.
