Tentative date for the 15th UNCG RMSC conference is Saturday, November 2, 2019.

The following students (presented in alphabetical order) have won the award for the outstanding student presentation:

UNCG-RMSC is an annual conference promoting student research in mathematics, statistics, and their applications in various fields. The 14th UNCG RMSC conference will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

This student focused conference features contributed research talks by undergraduate and graduate students (15 minutes in length total, 12 minutes for the presentations, 3 minutes for questions and change of the speakers). Topics for the contributed talks by students include but are not limited to:

  • mathematical biology
  • biostatistics
  • graph theory
  • computational mathematics
  • statistical techniques
Student talks from all areas of mathematics and statistics are welcome.

There will be a plenary talk by Dr. Suzanne Weekes (Worcester Polytechnic Institute).

Registration is free and the conference is open to the community, including high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, high school teachers, and university and college faculty. However only students can present papers at the conference.

  • Abstract submission deadline: October 17, 2018 (for students only).
  • Registration deadline: October 17, 2018.
  • Registration fee: Free (for all participants)

Modest travel support is available. To apply for travel funds, check the appropriate box on the registration form.
