## Minors

The National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Security Agency (NSA) recognize the need for a high quality STEM workforce. STEM majors enjoy an advantage in today's economy and are projected to remain in-demand well into the future. Strengthen your science degree without increasing time to graduation.

### Requirements for Mathematics Minor

A minimum of 15 semester hours of coursework with a grade of C or better consististing of

- (3 s.h.) MAT 191: Calculus I;
- (3 s.h.) MAT 292: Calculus II;
- (3 s.h.) MAT 310: Elementary Linear Algebra or MAT 353: Introduction to Discrete Mathematics;
- (6 s.h.) Two additional MAT or STA courses at the 200 level or above that count toward the MATH major.

### Requirements for Statistics Minor

A minimum of 15 semester hours of coursework with a grade of C or better consististing of

- (3 s.h.) STA 290: Introduction to Probability and Statistical Inference;
- (3 s.h.) STA 301: Statistical Methods;
- (9 s.h.) Three additional STA courses at the 300 level or above. Note: STA 571 may not be used to fulfill this requirement.
