INFORMATION SHEET: STATE MATH CONTEST FINALS

Campus Map.

Parking: For cars the parking is at the Parking Deck on Walker Ave. (See UNCG campus map.) which costs
1.00 dollar per hour or 6.00 dollars per day. If you park in any of the campus parking lots or on the street you may get
towed. For those coming by bus or other large transport (anything taller than 7'4"), you will probably need to
park in the UNCG park and ride near the Coliseum. This will depend largely on the number of buses. Under
no circumstances will the buses be allowed to park in the parking deck - you may get stuck and damage your
bus. The UNCG shuttles run every 15 minutes starting at 7:00 AM.

Registration: If you are planning to attend the Regional State Finals at University of North Carolina at Greensboro, then please complete the attached Registration Form and return it to the Department of Mathematical Sciences at UNCG or fill out the on-line form here.

On Site Registration is possible.

Calculators: No Calculators are permitted this year on the State Math Contest.

Test: All examinations will consist of 40 multiple choice questions, each question having 5 choices. Scratch paper
and pencils will be provided.

Time: The examination time is 80 minutes.

Scoring: Scoring will be calculated using the formula: 4 x number correct + number blank. Tie scores will be
determined by checking answers on specific, pre-determined, test questions. A perfect score is 160.

Awards: All participants will be given Certificates of Participation. The top twenty winners in each subject area
will be given Certificates of Merit. The top ten winners in each subject area will be given trophies.
