Fourth
Annual UNCG
New Music Festival
October
23-25, 2007 // Greensboro, NC
Directions & Links |
The UNCG New Music Festival enters its 4th season with a veritable extravaganza of concerts, lecture presentations and reading sessions. This year, we welcome pianist extraordinaire Amy Dissanayake, percussionist Anders Åstrand, and sound artist Bill Fontana as our special Guest Artists.
In addition to three evening concerts (two at the UNCG School of Music, one at the Weatherspoon Art Museum), we are also presenting a concert of music composed by graduate students of regional universities. There will be lectures and master classes by visiting composers and Amy Dissanayake will lead a reading session for student composers and a masterclass for pianists.
The Festival will further feature a number of new faculty members, including composers Alejandro Rutty and Matt Quayle and performers Anthony Taylor (clarinet) and Lorena Guillén (voice). UNCG resident ensembles will include the Chamber Singers under Bill Young, the Eastwind Ensemble and the Contemporary Chamber Players.
