Including the university in your will is the most common form of planned giving. This is the ideal way to make a major gift to the School of Music, while not giving up assets during your lifetime. A Bequest from your will is removed from your taxable estate, thereby reducing estate taxes. Many individuals bequeath a specific amount, while others leave a percentage of their estate. Documenting your intentions entitles you to membership in the Unbroken Band, the university’s legacy society that recognizes those who have planned for UNCG in their estates.
