Large Jazz Ensmebles- One Credit Hour

UNCG carries two large jazz ensembles. The UNCG Jazz Ensemble (MUS 395-01, 695-01) meets at 2:00-2:50 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in room 111. The UNCG Jazz Band meets at 12:00-12:50 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in room 111.

Membership of the big bands are determined by way of audition at the beginning of each semester. Look for information posters which are posted one week before classes begin in August. Usually, auditions are held on the first Tuesday evening of the first week of classes. You will be placed solely on the success of your audition. Prior to the audition, you may enroll in MUS 395-01 until you know where you have been placed. After the first week of class, you will be able to move yourself into the appropriate class section.

All jazz majors MUST audition for large jazz ensembles.
