Rehearsals: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 12:00-12:50 p.m., room 111

Please ensure that the following guidelines are upheld during the semester:

GIGS - Attendance is required for all gigs, no exceptions. Subs may be used during rehearsal time only.

GEAR - Please have all doubles, (reeds, flugels, electric bass, etc.) as well as mutes, for each rehearsal. Also have your book and a pencil.

LATENESS - The downbeat of each rehearsal will begin promptly at two o’clock. Please respect your colleagues by being warmed up ready to go at this time.

SECTIONALS - Sections will meet twice a month. See your section leader to schedule.

PREPARATION - When a chart is given out, it is expected to be under your fingers by the next rehearsal.

UNIVERSITY EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS

Failure to return university owned property used in conjunction with or related to this course in a timely manner will result in a grade of “INCOMPLETE”, until such property is properly returned. A $50.00 fee will be applied to your account if you lose your book.

Note: You MUST be able to play in both semesters of the school year. If you can't, see me immediately.

Wednesday, September 25, 2002: Dress for UNCG Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble, Recital Hall, 6:00-8:00 pm

Thursday, September 26, 2002: Concert, Recital Hall, 7:30 pm, the UNCG Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble

Thursday, December 5, 2002: Dress for Jazz Band, Recital Hall, 9:30pm-11:00 pm (after University Band concert)

Friday, December 6, 2002: Concert, Recital Hall, 7:30 pm, the UNCG Jazz Band

Friday, February 14 NO BAND

Friday, February 25 NO BAND

Wednesday, March 5, 2003: Dress for UNCG Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble, Recital Hall, 6:00-8:00 pm

Thursday, March 6, 2003: Concert, Recital Hall, 7:30 pm, the UNCG Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble
