The UNCG piano faculty boasts an impressive record of performance and scholarship. Students have the opportunity to work with exceptional pianists in a wide range of specialization from jazz through historical keyboard instruments. An on-campus summer conference, Focus on Piano Literature, held every other June attracts approximately 150 teachers, students and music lovers from over 20 states to campus. Past seminars have highlighted the piano music of Schubert, Mozart, Spanish composers and Grieg. Each Focus has featured, in addition to UNCG's resident piano faculty, outstanding guest artists and pedagogues and has included recitals, lectures, demonstrations, dance classes and a gala nationalistic banquet.
