Sounds of Learning: The Impact of Music Education (SoL) is a major research initiative designed to examine the roles of music education in the lives of school age children. SoL is pleased to announce a fourth round of funded research via requests for proposals.

The Sounds of Learning Status Report is a document that places these RFPs in context. Following an introductory chapter that outlines the overall project, the next five chapters provide reviews of the relevant literature and discuss implications for learning, for future research, and for policy makers. The Database contains details of studies reviewed in the document; data entry is ongoing.
