Trusts
Charitable Remainder Trusts distribute cash payments to the donor for life
or a specific number of years (maximum of 20) at which time the balance of
the trust assets are used to establish an endowment benefiting the School of
Music.
Charitable Lead Trusts allow a donor to make a gift to the School of Music
while also passing on assets to one’s heirs at a lower tax cost. A lead
trust pays UNCG an income for a set number of years, and when the trust term
ends, the principal goes back to the donor’s family.
Director of Development for the School of Music, Miriam Fields, and UNCG’s
Planned Giving staff will be pleased to answer your questions if you are
interested in learning more about the above life income giving opportunities.
