Greetings! I welcome you on behalf of the faculty, staff, and students who carry forward a commitment to our theme "Celebrate Nursing: A Tradition of Excellence". Please take this opportunity to explore information about our academic programs and faculty and professional nursing organizations at the UNCG School of Nursing.

The School of Nursing received the Center of Excellence in Nursing Education award from the National League for Nursing for 2005 - 2008. This was a significant recognition of our faculty.

The School of Nursing was established in September of 1966 under the leadership of the first Dean, Eloise R. Lewis. The first class of BSN students graduated in 1970. In 1976, the MSN program was initiated. The School began the PhD program Fall 2005. The School continues to offer both undergraduate and graduate programs with over 4,000 alumni. The School also offers an outreach program in Hickory, North Carolina for RN to BSN students and a concentration in education for MSN students.

The average passage rate for the NCLEX is over 90% for prelicensure graduates. Over 90% of the graduates from the ANP/GNP concentration and nurse anesthesia concentration have passed certification exams appropriate to their areas of expertise.

Students have the opportunity for clinical experiences in over 500 agencies throughout the state of North Carolina. The School supports four nursing clinics for the elderly and disadvantaged as educational sites for students. All students are advised by nursing faculty.
