One of the most exciting features about research at UNCG is its breadth. It
encompasses the performing and visual arts, education, business, social and
behavioral sciences, health sciences, and natural and physical sciences.
In fiscal year 2002 UNCG faculty published over 60 books and 570 journal articles
and had over 1900 public performances and presentations. In the past fiscal
year UNCG was awarded a record $36.5 million in contracts and grants for research,
service, and creative projects.
Center
for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships
The Center for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships builds the capacity
of families, service providers, researchers, teachers and communities to ensure
the health and well-being of children.
Office
of Research Compliance
The Office of Research Compliance (ORC) coordinates compliance measures on
campus and acts as a resource for the university community's concerns regarding
compliance requirements.
The
Center for Biotechnology, Genomics, and Health Research

The CBGHR is committed to the production and development of timely programs
in basic biological and health research at UNCG and in the Greensboro community.
These programs utilize modern technology and approaches to address questions
in areas of traditional strength at the University.

of Sponsored Programs
A unit of the
UNCG Office of Research and Public/Private Sector Partnerships,
the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). The OSP serves
as the central coordination point for all proposals involving
restricted grants and agreements.

The North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC)
helps small business owners (and those interested in starting a business) meet
the challenges of today's business environment, manage that ever-changing world,
and plan for the future of their business.

Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM)
AUTM is a nonprofit association with membership of more than 3,200 technology
managers and business executives who manage intellectual property-one of the
most active growth sectors of the U.S. economy. AUTM's members represent over
300 universities, research institutions, teaching hospitals and a similar number
of companies and government organizations. Their Mission is to promote, support
and enhance the global academic technology transfer profession through internal
and external education, training and communication.

Technology Transfer Center
The National Technology Transfer Center (NTTC) is a full-service technology-management
center, providing access to federal technology information, knowledge management
and digital learning services, technology assessment, technology marketing,
assistance in finding strategic partners, and electronic-business development
services. The NTTC fosters relationships with federal clients, showcases technologies
and facilitates partnerships between clients and U.S. industry.

collection. The collection includes applications, granted patents,

American
Intellecutal Property Law Association (AIPLA)
AIPLA represents a wide and diverse spectrum of individuals, companies and
institutions involved directly or indirectly in the practice of patent, trademark,
copyright and unfair competition law, as well as other fields of law affecting
intellectual property. Our members represent both owners and users of intellectual
property. The AIPLA was formed in 1897 in order to maintain a high standard
of professional ethics, to aid in the improvements in laws relating to intellectual
property and in their proper interpretation by the courts, and to provide legal
education to the public and to its members on intellectual property issues.

is maintained by the Center for Networked Information Discovery and Retrieval

of Science U.S. Patent Citation Database
The U.S. Patent Citation Database is a joint venture of the Community
of Science, Inc., a World Wide Web electronic publishing company, and
CHI Research, Inc.
This fully searchable bibliographic file contains all of the approximately
1.7 million U.S. patents issued since 1975. The database permits subscribers
to search all of the "front page" information about each patent: number, dates,
assignee, inventor, title, abstract, exemplary claims for recent years, and
U.S. and international classifications.
