The yin and yang of creative writing and entrepreneurship come together Wednesday, April 16, with “Margaret Hawkins and the Creative Writer.”
Hawkins – a writer, teacher, curator and critic who lives near Chicago – will speak at 4 p.m. in Room 130, Moore Nursing Building. The forum, part of UNCG’s Building Entrepreneurial Learning for Life (BELL) initiative, is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required.

the search for a successor to Chancellor Pat Sullivan, who plans to step down
in July. The Atlanta-based firm specializes in the higher education, health
and nonprofit sectors and is already working on recruiting a dean for the new

UNCG doctors receive funding

With all of the exciting advances in technology, UNCG is proud to be involved
in the race. According to a recent press release, $850,000 was awarded to Dr.
Yousef Haik, Dr. Parke Rublee, and Dr. Nadja Cech for use in their research projects.
In total, the university system awarded over $3.8 million to 18 projects at 13 universities.

According to a recent press release, UNCG's Center for Research Excellence in
Bioactive Food Components has opened an office in Kannapolis, part of North Carolina's
Research Campus, that will be a temporary headquarters until construction is
completed in the permanent laboratories.

to find ways to use scholarly research as a driver
for economic development and to provide revenue for the schools and
their inventors. Although the programs are still in their infancy,
both schools have experienced steady growth.
