I received my undergraduate degree from James Madison University and my Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As an assistant professor in the department, I’m interested in social marketing to improve people’s quality of life, as well as developing effective worksite wellness programs and health coaching interventions.
Before coming to UNCG, I worked for 20 years in a variety of nonprofits and community health organizations including hospital systems, a health maintenance organization and hospice. Most of my work has focused on helping health systems and physician practices effectively communicate with their patients and referring providers. I’ve developed award-winning health communication campaigns that educated women about their risks for heart disease and educated minority populations on the risk factors associated with stroke.
I teach primarily in the undergraduate program.
