Curriculum Vitae
Leah Tompkins, MS, CHES is an APT Assistant Professor. She earned a Master’s in Health Education from Texas A&M University in 2007 and a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Promotion from Emporia State University in 2004.
She has worked in worksite health settings as well as community health settings including Sprint Nextel, Carondelet Health System, and American Century Investments. Leah is currently pursuing the Doctorate of Higher Education from UNCG. She is a member of AAHPERD, and completed the Certified Health Education Specialist certification in 2007.
Leah’s focus area is distance education and online technologies. She is interested in beginning research in this area looking specifically at predictors of success in online courses and programs as well as instructional techniques to improve the rate of course completion. Leah is also working in conjunction with other faculty members to provide an online degree completion program for distance students.
