Light from this gigantic explosion first arrived on Earth on March 28,
1998. This image was taken on May 19, 1998; the fireball had
declined a modest amount from its peak. The image was taken
with UNCG's CCD camera at the Three College Observatory on May 20, 1998.
The Three College Observatory is located south of Burlington,
NC.
