Faculty Positions in Biophysics/Nanobioscience

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro has two tenure-track faculty positions (including start-up funds) available beginning August 1, 2008. 

 

Requirements: Ph.D. and willingness to develop a research program in a subspecialty related to departmental interests in biophysics, nanobioscience or related areas.  Preference will be given to a research program that connects with existing faculty interests in subspecialties including single molecule studies, electrophysiology, membrane transport, or related areas. 

 

We seek an energetic teacher-researcher with enthusiasm for undergraduate education and proven grant-getting abilities.  Postdoctoral experience strongly recommended.  Rank will be commensurate with experience.  Successful applicant should demonstrate a substantial willingness to participate in the development of graduate programs and centers appropriate to a vigorous regional program in nanobioscience.  

 

UNCG is a public coeducational, doctoral-granting residential university chartered in 1891.  Total enrollment is approximately 16,000 students.  Situated in north central North Carolina, Greensboro is approximately equidistant between the mountains and the seacoast.  Excellent public schools and a high quality of life are characteristics of Greensboro.
