International Affiliations

Created in 1997 as the Parliamentary Documents Center for Central Europe, CLS has emphasized collaborative projects with colleagues throughout the western world and Central Europe. CLS partners with similar legislative research centers in Britain, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova for conferences, data acquisition, and publications.

We actively participate in conferences and workshops on post-communist and transitional parliaments, and cooperate with the Research Committee of Legislative Specialists of the International Political Science Association, leading to working papers, books, and journal articles. Three books on post-communist parliaments have been sponsored by the Center, the most recent published in 2007.
