Washington Summer Study Session 2007

A short summer course on the U.S. Congress was held for PSC majors in Washington, DC from May 16 - June 5 this year. Dr. Dave Holian coordinated the course, "Congress in the Washington Context" with speakers, site visits, and curriculum for the 14 participating students. To kick off this course, the department hosted a reception for our alumni, students, faculty, and speakers in the Rayburn Building on Capitol Hill. Students met with several North Carolina members of Congress, lobbyists, journalists, and government officials. This program was partially funded by three UNCG endowments -- the Annie Moring Alexander Scholarship, the Elizabeth Davidson Endowment, and the Louise Alexander Fund. The Center for Legislative Studies plans to offer this opportunity for PSC majors every other year.
