MPA-l: The MPA Program Listserv

The Political Science Department has a "listserv" for graduate students and MPA alumni. A listserv is a closed email discussion group. You can talk about politics and current events, you can talk about school, ask people about particular courses, find out who might have a used copy of that book you need, get bulletins from the department and the MPA program, disseminate information about jobs, stay in touch with former classmates - the uses are endless!

If you would like to subscribe to the list (this is, of course, free even though it is called subscribing), send an email message with your name and, if you're an alumna or alumnus, the year you graduated, to Cheryl Hylton at cmhylton@uncg.edu stating that you'd like to subscribe to MPA-l (that's an "ell" not a "one" after MPA). You will get more information once you are on the list. You can unsubscribe at any time.

This is an unmoderated list, meaning no one "approves" the messages before they are sent out to the list. There is no censorship of ideas although uncivilized behavior (e.g., hate messages, personal attacks, attempts to make commercial use of the list) can get you booted off the list, and the department reserves the right to approve subscriptions. Subscription approval is mostly to prevent non-students from trying to use the list for commercial purposes. For more information on listservs, visit the IRC page on the Web and look for the document about listservs.
