UNCG Psychology Clinic
The UNCG Psychology Clinic is an outpatient facility offering affordable, high quality mental health services to all people from the Triad area. A non-profit organization, the Psychology Clinic is housed within the Psychology Department at UNCG.

Psychological Services
The UNCG Psychology Clinic offers a full range of therapy services for adults, adolescents, and children. Individual, family, and group therapy are provided for a variety of difficulties. Examples of problems commonly treated at the UNCG Psychology Clinic include depression, mood swings, anxiety/stress, social problems. marital and relational problems, family discord, phobias, panic attacks, anger, chronic pain, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, oppositional behavior, and school difficulties.

We place an emphasis on training and services that are based on current research, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, behavior management, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The Psychology Clinic also offers a full range of psychological assessment services. Twenty-four hour emergency on-call services are provided to help meet the needs of individual clients and their families.

Assessment Services
The Psychology Clinic provides assessments and evaluations for specific purposes in addition to that included within on-going therapy. We provide assessments for learning disabilities in children, adolescents, adults and for advanced learning placement in the schools. In addition, specialized services for the assessment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder are available through our AD/HD Clinic [phone: (336) 346-3192].

Psychiatric Services
Psychiatric care is provided by psychiatrists who consult with the Clinic on a regular basis. These psychiatrists complete medication evaluations, as well as provide psychiatric input on all referred therapy/assessment cases. If a client is judged to be in need of medication, psychiatric evaluation and treatment will be offered through one of our consulting psychiatrists. Psychiatric services are provided within the context of ongoing therapy.

Group Therapy Services
The Psychology Clinic offers group treatment for a variety of psychological problems. These include groups to help with anger management, skills for parenting children with AD/HD, social skills for children, adult depression and eating disorders. Asperger's Camp
The Psychology Clinic will be offering Dream Camp, a half-day summer camp for children with Asperger's Disorder. The goals of the camp are to improve social functioning, increase communication skills, and provide fun and enriching activities that will allow children to experience success. Psychology Clinic Staff
The Psychology Clinic is staffed by advanced graduate clinicians in the APA approved doctoral program in clinical psychology. Each clinician is closely supervised by a member of the UNCG Clinical faculty, all of whom are Licensed Psychologists in the state of North Carolina. All therapists have had extensive training in the assessment and treatment of psychological problems. Laura Rhoads is the Manager of the UNCG Psychology Clinic.

Arranging an Appointment
To schedule an initial appointment, call the Clinic at (336)334-5662 between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to 7:00pm on Friday. A free 15 to 30 minute screening appointment will be arranged for you as soon as possible.

Fees
The standard fee for therapy and assessment services is $100 per hour. Different rates may apply to psychiatric consultations and group services. The Clinic is committed to serving clients who have financial stress. Clients who are uninsured or who have insurance that will not pay for clinic services have the option of applying for financial assistance, which is based on demonstrated need. We are authorized to accept Medicaid payments for children and adults. Many insurance companies will also reimburse for services received at the Psychology Clinic.

Location
The Clinic is located in the Psychology wing of the Eberhart Building on the UNCG campus. The building is located on the corner of McIver and Walker Avenues behind the Tate Street shops. The Clinic receptionist office is in room 355 Eberhart Building; the waiting room is attached to the receptionist office and is in room 361 Eberhart Building.

For parking, be sure to park in a space labeled Psychology Clinic or Psychology Department, located in the small parking lot on the left side of Walker Ave. The Eberhart Building is on the right side of Walker Ave. (across the street from the parking lot). Enter the main doors facing the courtyard. From the main entrance, take the elevator to the 3 rd floor. Check in with the receptionist in room #355.
