The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in cooperation with the School of Social Sciences at Växjö University is pleased to offer this unique exchange program. All classes in The Comparative Organizational Psychology Program are conducted in English! Courses in basic Swedish language are also possible. To qualify for this program you must have junior standing and a basic knowledge of the social sciences, including PSY 121, 260 and PSY 311 for psychology majors or minors. This program can offer you: A Spring Semester program of Organizational Psychology Studies conducted in English, up to 15 semester hours credit toward your UNCG degree, and special travel grants available for your international air travel. All this at a price about equal to that of a year or semester in residence at UNCG! THE SETTING The city of Växjö has a population of 70,000 people. The area is known for its world class glassworks, including Kosta Boda and Orrefors. The city offers a full range of cultural and social opportunities, including a cathedral, concert hall, theater, and museums. The idyllic setting of Växjö makes it a wonderful place to live and study. THE UNIVERSITY Växjö (pronounced "Vex-sure" or "Vek-wa") University is the major university in southeastern Sweden and is known for its integrated English language programs. About 9,000 students attend Växjö University, including international students from such diverse areas as Scandinavia, Europe, the US, Japan, Australia and Africa. ACADEMICS This is a full-semester program (mid-January to early June) which offers a unique opportunity to work on team research with culturally mixed groups of students. Coursework at Växjö University is designed on a "consecutive scheduling" program. Only one course is taken at a time, and you are examined at the end of each individual course. Courses have been carefully selected and designed to meet a portion of the major or minor requirements here at UNCG in the Psychology Department. Building on social psychology, you will focus on interdisciplinary ideas such as work-group dynamics, organizational change, cross-cultural work environments, conflict, and leadership. Students may earn 12-15 semester hours toward their B.A. degree. Four sequential courses comprise the curriculum:
