Office of the Provost
The Office of the Provost facilitates the appointment of foreign nationals to EPA positions and provides them with essential support services. The Director of Immigration Services in the Office of the Provost serves as a liaison between The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and such government agencies as the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Labor and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service and should be the first person to contact when anticipating the appointment of an international applicant.
Services include advising departments and international faculty and EPA staff on all aspects of non-immigrant and immigrant status; preparing of immigration documents, such as applications to obtain, extend, or change non-immigrant status of faculty and EPA staff; and processing applications for permanent resident (green card) status for faculty. Outside attorneys may not represent UNCG in immigration matters without approval by the State Attorney General. All petitions for which UNCG is the petitioner must be prepared and submitted by the Office of the Provost.
