Information for Departments on Employing International EPA Personnel
The Office of the Provost should be the first office to contact when anticipating the appointment of an international applicant. For immigration purposes an international applicant is one who is in a nonimmigrant visa status or is outside the US and will require a nonimmigrant visa to enter. Examples of nonimmigrants include F-1, J-1, H-1B, and TN visa holders. If a person is a naturalized US citizen or a permanent resident (green card holder) then it is not necessary to contact this office.

The only nonimmigrant visa categories which allow tenure track positions are H-1B visa status or O-1 visa status.
