Information for International EPA Personnel

The hiring department must initiate nonimmigrant visas for international employees. It is UNCG’s policy to prepare and submit employment-based nonimmigrant visa petitions for all qualifying permanent international EPA employees. It is our policy to prepare all immigrant visa petitions for all qualifying international faculty. No outside attorneys may represent the University in immigration matters without the approval of the State Attorney General.

Visa Categories

Links to information for common visa categories used at UNCG for permanent international employees are listed below. The only nonimmigrant visa categories which allow tenure track positions are H-1B visa status or O-1 visa status. H-1B and O-1 visa status are also an option for non-tenure track positions.

H-1B Visa | TN Visa | O-1 Visa | Employment-Based Permanent Residency
