Visiting Scholars (vs. Permanent Employees)

Departments should direct all questions regarding employment to a permanent position at UNCG to the Office of the Provost.

Departments should direct all questions regarding visiting scholars in temporary positions to Director of International Student and Scholar Services in the Office of International Programs.

Any title with a Visiting in front of it connotes a temporary status such as Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Scholar, and Post-Docs. Possible visa options for temporary positions include J-1 Exchange Visitor, J-2 with work authorization, F-1 Student with Optional Practical Training (OPT), and J-1 Student with Academic Training (A.T.). Please see the Office of International Programs for more details.
