OSE (Office Supply Exchange)

Attention, faculty and staff! Do you have unused office supplies cluttering up your office? Need new ones but don’t wanna spend the money? Come check out the OWRR’s brand new Office Supply Exchange! Faculty and staff are encouraged to drop off unwanted, lightly used items and take office supplies as needed from our inventory. Located at the back of North Spencer residence hall (Gray Drive next to the Atrium), the OSE is a one-stop shop for all your office needs. We have three-ring binders, hanging folders, envelopes, computer paper, pens, pencils, desk organizers, staplers, and much more—and it’s completely free!

We at the OWRR are excited about the launch of this program for a number of reasons. Every year, departments spend thousands on office supplies. By providing an opportunity to acquire free office supplies, this program will help to mitigate some of those costs. In addition, the OSE will reduce waste at its source (by avoiding unnecessary supply orders), and divert already purchased materials from the landfill. So whether you’re taking supplies or leaving them, everybody wins!

How it works

  • Bring your unwanted office supplies to the OSE and place them in the designated drop box. Don’t bother restocking shelves; an OWRR staff member will replenish supplies on a weekly basis.
  • If you are in need of office supplies, simply survey the space, find what you want and take it with you.

Hours: The space will be open to the public from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM every Tuesday & Thursday.

Accepted Items

  • Three-ring binders
  • Hanging file folders, manila folders
  • Spiral bound notebooks
  • Composition books
  • Reams of paper (computer and notebook)
  • Desk, disk, and file organizers
  • Pencils, pens, highlighters, markers, white-out
  • Rulers, erasers, staplers, hole punchers
  • Ink toners (UNUSED)
  • Bookends

If you have items you’d like to get rid of that are not on this list, call us and we’ll let you know if we can accept them.

The OWRR is happy to provide this free service to university employees. Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions! 334.5192, recycle@uncg.edu.
