Buildings that generate large volumes (primarily Mossman, High Rises, Bryan Building, Spring Garden Apartments, 1100 W. Market) are serviced on Thursdays. Additional pick-ups are available upon request.

There are two locations on campus that permanently have 30-yard dumpsters. These locations are Aycock Theater, near Administration Dr., and the Steam Plant, near Oakland Ave. Service and placement of 30-yard dumpsters is available upon request any day of the week during normal working hours.

The Caf and EUC house a 250-gallon tank that stores used cooking oil from dining services. This is picked up every three weeks by Piedmont Biofuels and then transported to Pittsboro where it is processed into biodiesel.
Primarily collected at a dumping trailer behind the Steam Plant, scrap metal is taken to DH Griffin as needed by the OWRR collection crew. A secondary dumping trailer is housed behind the Gatewood Building and is serviced as needed.
Campus spot checks and or call-in requests alert the OWRR collection crew to the need for pallet pick-ups. Every two or three weeks these are taken by the crew to Pallet Express for refurbishing.
