International applicants must complete the special international application and return all required documents on or before the international deadline as specified in the international application. International applicants should present Scholastic Assessment Test results along with all applicable transcripts from secondary and postsecondary schools.
International applicants whose native language is not English should also present one of the following (effective November, 2001) in support of their application:
- 1.) TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results. You might also visit the TOEFL web site or the UNCG INTERLINK web site.
2.) APIEL (Advanced Placement International English Language) exam results, in lieu of TOEFL for purposes of admission. A student who presents an APIEL grade of 4 or higher will be considered to have a level of English language proficiency that is adequate for study at UNCG. A student who presents an APIEL grade of 4 or higher and who is admitted as a student at UNCG will be exempt from English as a Second Language classes.
Prior to admission, applicants must submit evidence of adequate financial support to cover their expenses for their first year of study at the University, as specified in the Undergraduate Tuition and Fees table. The University will issue the necessary visa documentation only to those students who are formally admitted to the University. International students should not leave their native countries intending to enroll at the University until they have received a formal letter of acceptance and all appropriate visa documentation. You might also visit the ETS Web site.
If you intend to transfer any credit from colleges or universities outside the United States, UNCG requires a third party evaluation. We would suggest you visit www.wes.org to secure a course-by-course evaluation.
