The University
of North Carolina at Greensboro is accredited by the Commission on
Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866
Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia, 30033-4007; telephone 404/679-4501)
to award Bachelor's, Master's, Specialist's, and Doctor's degrees.
Teacher
Education programs have been approved at the state level by the North
Carolina Department of Public Instruction and at the national level
by the National Council of Accreditation in Teacher Education.
Programs
in the professional schools and in certain departments of the College
of Arts and Sciences are also accredited by relevant professional
agencies. Where applicable, such accreditation is noted in the respective
sections in Academic Units and alphabetical departmental listings.
