May 2008 Commencement SpeakerThomas Warren Ross
Thomas Warren Ross began his post as president of Davidson
College in August of last year. A Davidson College graduate of the class of 1972,
Ross attended law school at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating
with honors. For seventeen years, he served as a North Carolina Superior Court
judge. For his dedicated service in that position, he received the William H. Rehnquist
Award for Judicial Excellence. Prior to accepting the presidency of Davidson, Ross
served for seven years as the executive director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation
in Winston-Salem, N.C.
