UNCGenie Features
UNCGenie provides access to a wide variety of databases including: address changes, payments and account information, registration, course availability, class schedules, directory information, grades, transcripts, financial aid, and much more.
Security Features
- Personal Identification Number (PIN). All UNCG students, faculty and staff are issued unique PINs. UNCGenie requires that individuals enter their ID number and UNCG PIN in order to gain access to the secured portion of the system.
- Advising Code. A six-digit advising code is also required of all undergraduates and graduate students in some programs in order to access to the registration menu. Students obtain new advising codes for each semester from their faculty advisors prior to registration.
- Printed copies. Printed copies of grades and unofficial transcripts do not display students' names or ID numbers. This security feature is designed to prevent others from viewing a student's grades or transcript in situations where a number of people may be using a single printer.
Printing Features
When using UNCGenie/Web, individuals can print the following screens: account summary; class schedule; fee assessment; financial aid status; grades; unofficial transcripts.
After logging on to UNCGenie, individuals may select any of the following menus.
Account/Billing Summary
All students incur tuition and fee charges as soon as they register. After registering, students should print a copy of their bills (tuition/fee assessment). For students who live on campus, a summary that also includes housing and dining plan charges can be accessed on UNCGenie as well. Students can view and print copies of their account summaries.

Address/Telephone/E-mail Updates
Students, staff, and faculty should make updates to address/telephone numbers/e-mail addresses by assessing this UNCGenie feature.

Class Schedule
Students may print copies of their class schedules as soon as they have registered.
Select: Student & Financial Aid Menu-Student Records Information-Registration-Student Schedule by Day/Time or Student Detail Schedule.
Course Search
A real-time course search is available for each semester on UNCGenie. You do not need to log on to UNCGenie to use this search engine. Simply click on the UNCGenie button, then on Course Search icon in the top right of the screen.
Directory Information
You may also search for UNCG student, staff, or faculty information in this Web directory. You do not need to log on to UNCGenie to use this search engine. Simply click on the UNCGenie button, then on Directory icon in the top left of the screen.
Financial Aid Status
Financial aid status, including award information, is available through UNCGenie.
Select: Student & Financial Aid Menu-Financial Aid Information.
Grades
Students should access UNCGenie at the end of each semester to view or listen to grades. Printed grade reports are no longer mailed to students.

Holds
Students may view or hear any current holds that have been placed on their enrollment status or academic record through UNCGenie.

Registration
All registration for classes at UNCG is conducted through UNCGenie Web or voice response systems. Go to UNCGenie Registration Instructions for details about how to register. Access to the Registration menu requires a semester advising code.
Transcript of Academic Record
Students may view and print unofficial copies of their transcripts from UNCGenie.
