Consumer, Apparel, & Retail studies
Only grades of C (2.0) or higher in CARS courses (CRS, APD, RCS) will count toward completion of the
major and concentrations. An apparel product construction exam must be passed to enroll in the Apparel Product Design Studio courses, beginning with APD 250.
Human Development and Family Studies
Transfer students with 60 semester hours may apply for admission after completing 12 semester hours at UNCG.
HDFS, Birth–Kindergarten concentration (B–K Teacher Licensure)
Must have a 2.70 GPA and passing score on Praxis to be admitted to Teacher Education. Students are also required to be certified in First Aid and CPR prior to student teaching.
Interior Architecture
Admission is by personal interview or group orientation only, and transfers must have a 2.50 transferable GPA for admission. Transfer students applying for advance studio placement must present to the Interior Architecture screening committee portfolio and transcript evidence of relevant achievement through prior course work or experiences.
Nutrition
Must earn grades of C or better in all required NTR and related area courses.
Social Work
The student who wishes to formally declare Social Work as a major should consult with the Undergraduate Program Director. Admission to the major is based upon: satisfactory completion of UNCG SWK 215 with a grade of C or higher; a minimum University GPA of 2.50; completion of a minimum of 51 s.h.; and completion and submission of the B.S.W. Application Packet by May 1 of the year in which the student is seeking admission.
Additional Note:
All elective courses must be chosen from college transferable courses.
