Dance majors (B.A., B.F.A., B.S.)

Admission is by application and audition only.

Exercise and Sport Science

Students who enter the UNCG Exercise and Sport Science major as transfers in the junior year should expect to take at least an extra semester of work unless they enter with a strong background in science and physical education activities. For those students seeking Teacher Licensure who are also required to complete a second academic concentration, the time commitment may be further extended.

Exercise and Sport Science majors/Fitness Leadership

Completion of BIO 111, 271, 277, ESS 220; ESS 375 (may be taken concurrently with application); and the first CHE course and a 2.50 or higher cumulative GPA are required. Transfer students must complete the above requirements and successfully complete 12 semester hours at UNCG before making application to the concentration.

Exercise and Sport Science majors/Acquatics Instructor Leadership

A minimum GPA of 2.30 and a grade of at least a C (2.0) in each required ESS course at the 100–499 level is required for permission to enroll in any 500-level exercise and sport science courses.

Exercise and Sport Science majors/Physical Education Teacher Education concentration

Must meet the 2.50 GPA required for admission to the Teachers Academy.

Exercise and Sport Science major/Sports Medicine concentration

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for admission to the Sports Medicine program.

Public Health majors

Transfer students with 60 s.h. may apply for admission to the Community Health Education concentration after completing 12 s.h. at UNCG with a minimum GPA of 2.50.

Speech Pathology and Audiology majors

Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 after transfer of at least 55 semester hours. Application deadline: July 1st.

Additional Note:

All elective courses must be chosen from college transferable courses.
