Additional Requirements for
School of Nursing
An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is required to declare PreNursing as a major upon admission to the University .
Students transferring into the School of Nursing from another baccalaureate nursing program must have a letter of reference from the administrative head of that nursing program. This reference should be sent directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing. Credits with a nursing designation do not transfer from community colleges.
Incoming transfer and second degree students must have a transfer GPA of 3.0 or greater to declare PreNursing as their major upon admission to the University.
Application deadline for upper division Nursing major is July 1.
All elective courses must be chosen from college transferable courses. Students planning to transfer to UNCG should realize that the B.S. in Nursing will require an additional 3 years of course work at UNCG beyond the A.A.
