A student may request an official UNCG transcript in the University Registrar's Office, 180 Mossman, through the Transcript Pick-Up/Mailing Service, by means of a written request, or online with a credit card. The University Registrar's Office cannot accept transcript requests by telephone, e-mail, or fax. In-person transcript services are available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Online services are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. UNCG ID and PIN are required.
Transcript fee
The current transcript fee is $5.00 per transcript (includes both undergraduate and/or graduate records); the transcript fee is payable by check or money order; please do not mail cash. Make checks payable to UNCG.
Credit cards are not accepted for mail-in or walk-in transcript orders.
Information required for all transcript requests
All transcript requests must include the following student information:
- Complete name, including any previous names or name changes
- Dates of enrollment at UNCG
- Student identification number
- Date of birth
- Status at time of enrollment (graduate or undergraduate)
- Student's signature (required)
- Complete mailing address of recipient and student
Transcript mailing services
In-Person Pick-Up/Mailing Service
A valid picture ID is required for pick-up transcripts.
Pick-up transcripts can be issued ONLY to the student who is requesting the transcript; to a third party who
has written authorization from the student and a valid picture ID; mailed to a requested address; or faxed to
a requested recipient.
Academic background and demographic information including signature of student (see above for complete list of required information) must be provided before transcript can be released.
If you are having a transcript faxed to another destination, the recipient's name, telephone number, and fax number must be supplied on the request. The following statement is also required for transcripts that are to be faxed:
"I understand that the requested document may be received at a location that is not secure, and may not be accepted as an official transcript."
Failure to include this statement, the recipient's complete fax number and your signature will prohibit the processing of the request.
The transcript fee of $5.00 per transcript is payable in cash or by check; the University
Registrar's Office cannot accept payment by credit card for in-person or mail-in
orders.
Special Mailing Services
Special transcript mailing services include:
Federal Express
Contact Federal Express to determine the cost and include a separate check to cover the Federal Express charge. Make one check payable to Federal Express and the other payable to UNCG to cover the transcript fee. Do not include the Federal Express charges with your transcript fee.
Express Mail
Send a stamped self addressed Express mailer along with your transcript request.
Written transcript requests
Written requests should be mailed to the following address:

You may print and use this form for
written requests.
Please allow three (3) working days for processing of written requests. Requests
must include academic background, demographic information and signature of student
(see above for complete list of required information). The transcript fee of $5.00
per transcript should accompany the request. The transcript fee is payable by check
or money order; please do not mail cash. Credit cards are not accepted for mail-in
requests.
To have a transcript faxed to another destination (other than the student's address), the recipient's name and fax number must be supplied on the written request. The following statement is also required for transcripts that are to be faxed to another recipient:
"I understand that the requested document may be received at a location that is not secure, and may not be accepted as an official transcript."
Failure to include this statement, the recipient's complete fax number, your return address, and your signature will prohibit the processing of the request.
