• Kelli Alexander ('88) married Charles Scruggs on September 6, 1997 in Winston-Salem. Bridesmaids included Donna Sexton Joyce ('87) of Ether, NC and LaDonna Sigmon ('86) of Taylorsville. • David Arnold ('88) lives in Winston-Salem, where he is a business law paralegal for Bell Davis & Pitt.  For 13+ years, he has been a soloist/section leader in the 80-voice choir at Winston-Salem's Centenary United Methodist Church; for 12 seasons he was a member of the professional choral ensemble, Bel Canto Company.  With these two groups he has recorded 10 CDs, including the bass solo work for Mozart's Requiem.  Since his days in RC, he has sung in Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Russia and closer to home in Carnegie Hall.  He enjoys spending time with his partner of four years, Rob, and their Tibetan terrier, Abby.  He is also the proud papa of lovebirds, Fanny and Felix (named after the Mendelssohn siblings).  David is currently taking time off from some of his musical obligations to pursue a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at UNCG, "the closest thing to RC in the post-undergrad world."  Email:  davidskot@hotmail.com.   Updated December 2006

• After 12 years of courting, Ken Beck ('88) and Shawn Linehan ('88) were finally married May 27 in a beautiful, rustic setting in Efland, NC. • Holly Horton Bellebuono ('88)  I graduated UNCG in 1992 (entered in 1988). I got my Masters Degree in Environmental Policy and am currently working for a non-profit environmental group in Boone, where I've lived for 7 years. I married Rocco Bellebuono in 1998 and we have a son, Gabriel, born March 24 '00 and are expecting our second child in March '02. • Alison Brown ('86) In August 2001 I moved from my crazy life in Washington, DC to Omaha, Nebraska (still with my two cats, but have now added a guy to the picture).  I am still an immigration attorney and am now supervising legal clinics sponsored by the United Methodist Church in Nebraska and Iowa.  It has been a challenging time to be helping non-citizens.  I find serenity in the many hours I spend driving around the rolling hills of Iowa.  Email BrownJFON@aol.com: Updated Summer 2003
• Shannon Buie Johnson (’84)  married Chuck Johnson, a civil engineer, in October of 1996.  She is a software analyst and keeps busy remodeling their older home in Raleigh.  Recently, she vacationed in Vegas with Stephanie Holcombe Phillips (’84), Stacy Gerdes Martineau (’84), Hanna Calvert Roggenstein (’84), and Mara C. Pasquale (’84). I forgot to date early entries; this one could be as old as Spring 1998. 
• April Bunn ('84): my big update is that I started a business in June of '99. I own Wedding Belles, a Bridal Boutique, near Atlantic City, NJ. I am still a flight attendant with  United Airlines out of Phil, Pa. It makes for a CRAZY life,  but a very exciting one too. • Kim Chaney-Bay (‘82) I am still living in our renovated 1930s house in Alcoa, Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  My husband, Jeff, and I welcomed Johannah Caroline Chaney Bay ("Hannah") into our lives on January 4, 2001! • Emily Ruark Clarke ('86)Emily Ruark Clarke ('86) and her husband Ian have 4 children (Gabriel, adopted from Guatemala in 1996, Tian, adopted from China in 1998, Jack, adopted from Korea in 2000, and Nora, adopted from China in 2003).Emily raises funds for Half the Sky Foundation (www.halfthesky.org), traveling around the country and to China to do so when she is not in her home office near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. • Lynn Fick-Cooper ('85) earned an MBA from UNCG in 1996, after which she married classmate John Cooper. The two moved to D.C. for a short time, but missed Greensboro and moved back. • James R. Counts ('87) lived in the notorious 326 spookyroom (Kling-Klangzimmer), 3rd floor Mary Foust with David, Meredith, Michael, Fred, and Chris. No one complained about the bands Underwear House, The Industry, and Unit-2 practicing under red lights at all hours except the RAs (sorry Kim!) James now lives in spicy Brixton and baby sits animated characters for British television. • Patricia Curry Jarrett (‘81) lives in Greensboro with husband Doug, and is a receptionist for Industries of the Blind on Lee Street.  She was awarded the Milton J. Samuelson Career Achievement Award, which recognizes her career achievement in spite of disabilities and her work fighting stereotypes about people with disabilities.  She served on the Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities in Greensboro in 1995 and 1996 and carried the Olympic torch on its way to Atlanta.  Updated Summer 1999

• Michael Driver (1987) is currently a licensed Real Estate Agent for Kriegsman and Associates, which pays much better than retail with less hours...  He also has finished principal photography for Plate of Shrimp productions first full length "film" (seeing as it was shot on video...  lol) entitled Morris Attacks, in which he played a variety of parts, including but not limited to: a robot named Crunchy, an elf, a bear, a very tall leprechaun, a Mexican minstrel, and himself.  He is currently working on a full length romantic tragicomedy to be shot in the fall.  Aside from that and freelance writing (including a recent stint for GSBO's Triad Style), he is putting out a compilation of local bands to benefit the Women's Resource center, was elected president of the Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association, he works on his houses, plays with his dogs, and watches a lot of movies.  Oh and occasionally sleeps.  Catch him at crunchy@triad.rr.com.

• Karen E. Forehand ('84) was killed on New Year's Eve, 1995.  After leaving RC, she had received her law degree from Duke University, held a partnership in a New York law firm and in her own practice in Cary, NC.  Most importantly, she'd touched many other lives and will be sorely missed and long remembered.
• Mark Freundt ('84) received the 1992 John Coltrane Jazz Composers Fellowship, which led to the recording of his "Dance for the Moon." He has been with the Greensboro Music Academy since 1989, creating it's award-winning Jazz Education Center and teaching jazz and classical piano. He is also on the faculty at Guilford College. • John C. • Rick Gallimore(‘85) got married in 1992 while a grad student in Rochester, NY and lived there for 6 years with wife Lisa, who is a neurologist. • Tamarin Gay Huelin (’85) writes “I’m living in an undergraduate dorm at the University of Chicago, doing Tom and Michelle Taylor’s old job (with my husband, Scott)!  There are many days when I really appreciate the role RC played (and the people there) in shaping my life.  Students stop by all hours of the day and night, and living in a community intensely again has been both a joy and a challenge.  My husband is close to being ABD in his program here in Religion and Literature.  I’m working full-time as clinic coordinator and therapist for New Life Clinic in the downtown Chicago outpatient clinic.  I really enjoy my work and was able to transfer my job here when we moved from Atlanta 2 years ago.” I forgot to date early entries; this one could be as old as Spring 1998.  Sorry!
• Alex Goldstein (‘86)lives in Durham and recently returned to UNCG to participate in a series of events commemorating the November 1979 Klan-Nazi shootings in Greensboro, during which his step-father was killed. At age 11, Alex was present during the anti-Klan rally in which his mother also protested. (UNCG students watched a short film assembled from footage of the event and a discussion followed. • Since completing an MSW at Washington University, Jennifer Greene (‘81) has been a social work administrator at a small treatment center for children with emotional and behavioral problems in Charlotte. • Ellen Gozion (1981)  is a soap-maker by hobby and a pianist for the Pittsburgh ballet theatre by trade. She and boyfriend Jim do contra and English country dancing, flat water canoe on the local rivers, visit various state parks, and host a reading group of poetry and prose.

• Melissa Hagemann ('85): moved to New York City after four years in Budapest, Hungary. It's taken a while to adjust to life in the States again, but she's enjoying New York and working for the Soros Foundation, an international education foundation. • Kate Greenblo Hayward ('88) I have finished my MA in Counseling, and am currently working part-time at Duke doing cancer prevention counseling.  Next month, I will also be counseling oncology inpatients, something I am really looking forward to!  My husband Tim is looking at Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowships, so we'll probably be moving next summer.  I'm sad to move, but happy that this means he's almost done with his 7 years of training here at Duke and is looking at Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowships, so they will probably be moving soon. • Alison Lynch ('81): is working toward completing certification in counseling and working as an "intake specialist" for a behavioral health managed care company in the meantime. • Angela Osborne ('85) received her MFA in Costume Design from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1994. However, I took a certificate course in Fall 2006 for Medical Office Administration Specialist at UNCC, and I'm looking forward to finding a position in the medical field. I still live in Charlotte. Another new thing about me since 2000 is that I started line dancing in Feb 2001, so I've been at it for 6 1/2 years. It's fabulous and I love it, and it's great exercise. It has been almost 9 years now. We have 2 daughters - Kasey, 15, and Samantha, 9. We survived our first year of high school and now we are venturing into the life of having a teen-aged driver. Kasey enjoys going to summer camp at UNC-G and it is always fun to walk around campus when we drop her off and pick her up. So many changes! Except the food in the cafeteria somehow remains the same. • Abbitha Jane Wilcox Berry ('85):  Dan and I are still married. Eleven years this summer. We have two daughters Sydney Jane Berry born Dec. 9, 2001 and Jordan Sorrento Berry born Feb. 22, 2005. Sydney is named for her grandfather, Sydney Berry and is a fourth generation Jane. Sorrento is one of our favorite towns to visit in Italy. • Chris Winters (’86) got an M.F.A. in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston, joined the Peace Corps and spent four years in Hungary, where he met his wife Annamari. They returned to the U.S. in 1999 to settle in Seattle, where Chris spent seven years reporting for a newspaper that folded in early 2007. Deploying his parachute just in time, Chris is now the managing editor of Washington CEO Magazine (www.washingtonceo.com), and Annamari teaches English as a Second Language to more recently arrived immigrants at Shoreline Community College.
