  • Further study of basic French focusing on topics and vocabulary pertaining to the culture and business practices of present-day France.

  • A course exploring the representation of real and fictional royal personages and monarchical politics in literary works from the medieval Romance of Tristan and Iseult through Beaumarchais' pre-Revolution play, The Marriage of Figaro.

  • 562 Studies in Film Genres: Franco-Arab Cinema (Wilkens)

  • Through analysis of a range of films, this course examines the representation of both the colonial and postcolonial Arab subject in dominant French culture, the importance of immigration and geography, biculturalism, and the development of banlieue and beur filmmaking in a transnational context. This course will be taught in English.
