Meet Some Recent Minors

Allison Conley
Allison Conley Paris is an amazing city and had always been a dream of mine to study architecture there. I spent the spring 2008 semester in Paris at l'Ecole Speciale d'Architecture studying French and architecture. The experience was unforgettable and I thoroughly enjoyed indulging in the culture by living with a French family, going to a French school, and spending time with French friends. I have also explored other cities in France by participating in the UNCG trip to Angers in summer 2007 and working as an architectural intern for the Château de Chantilly during the summer 2008. Currently, I am in my fourth year of the five year UNCG interior architecture program as well as working on a French minor. In fall 2010 I plan to attend graduate school for architecture and would like to return to Paris for graduate school.
Adam Castevens
Adam Castevens I took an interest in the French department after having studied French throughout high school. While I am graduating with a degree in history, having a French minor will not only better prepare me for graduate school as I pursue a career in education, but also has provided me with greater understanding of French culture. Being able to participate in the Angers summer program was absolutely the best college experience I have had, and the classes helped me complete my minor while abroad!
Carolina Luzon
Carolina Luzon My name is Carolina Luzon and I am from Peru. I have been at UNCG for 3 years working in my Nutrition major. I am planning to go to France and work in my minor in French. I think this would be a great opportunity to experience another way of life, meet people and most important to improve my skills in French. I think that having a French minor will extend my ability to reach people with my knowledge in nutrition and work in places were undernourishment is an everyday problem.
Aaron Dell
Aaron Dell I'm a senior at UNCG. I'm minoring in French because I have an interest in language and literature, and I hope to one day be able to read France's literature in French. After graduation, I hope to be accepted into the JET Programme and spend a couple years teaching English in Japan, before attending graduate school.
Jodi Bennett-Bradshaw
Jodi

Hi, my name is Jodi Bennett-Bradshaw and I am an anthropology major, with a concentration in biological anthropology.  Earning my minor in French has been filled with many challenges but also with many rewards. My French studies complement my anthropological studies because at UNCG we are not only learning the French language, but also the French culture.  I plan to attend graduate school after UNCG, and I know that having a solid background in the French language will propel me toward a successful future.
