The Department takes seriously its commitment to teacher education. In cooperation with the School of Education, it participates both at the bachelor's and master's levels in programs which strive to produce graduates who can go into the K-12 classrooms and be "cultural ambassadors" in the broadest sense of those words, teachers who will be able to impart to their students the language, literature, and culture of French and Spanish-speaking communities. For further information about the M.Ed. with a concentration in French or Spanish, and for application to admission to those programs, consult with the School of Education's Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The current CUI Graduate coordinator is Dr. Barbara Levin
