Simple Pleasures Manual
The Simple Pleasures research team investigated the effects of 30 handmade recreational items on the behavior of nursing home residents with dementia. Twenty-three items were found therapeutically valuable in nursing home use. The Simple Pleasures manual includes instructions for building and directions for using these items.

The UNCG Department of Recreation, Tourism & Hospitality Management, in partnership with the Office of Campus Activities & Programs are pleased to sponsor a short term summer abroad program to China.
This unique program will offer students the opportunity to examine leadership styles, business strategies, cultural and hospitality traditions in China and consider how these influence both US and global hospitality business decisions.
A substantial portion of the program will be primarily located in Guilin, northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Guilin is considered to be the pearl of China’s thriving tourism industry on account of the natural beauty, historic treasures, and institutions like the Guilin Institute of Tourism, Guangxi Normal University and the Guilin University of Electronic Technology. However, students will also have an opportunity to visit Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an and more!

Shanghai: Wednesday, May 27 – Sunday, May 31
