Dr. Sellers is a Professor in the Department of Recreation, Tourism, and Hospitality Management. His work focuses on management in the public and private non-profit sectors of the leisure service delivery system. He has served as president of a park planning firm specializing in the planning, development, and management of recreation and park areas and has served as planning, design, and management consultant to numerous public and private non-profit recreation and park agencies. He has prepared numerous master plans, general development plans, book chapters, and technical reports. His work has been published in a variety of publications, including the North Carolina Recreation and Park Review, Parks and Recreation Resources, American City and County, and Journal of Park and Recreation Administration.
Dr. Sellers' research interests include history and philosophy of recreation and parks, resource planning and development, site planning and design, budgeting and fiscal management.
