Student Affairs Awards Program
Staff
members of the Division of Student Affairs flocked to the Cone Ballroom on Tuesday,
April 19, to hear the announcement of the winners of the first annual Student
Affairs Awards Program sponsored by the Staff Development Committee. Three awards
were presented: Team Player, Unsung Hero, and Employee of the Year. Thirteen
staff members were nominated for the awards—Mary Griffin, Kathleen McGirty, Kevin McClain, Brett Carter, Diana Karczmarczyk, Mary Culkin, Carolyn Coppedge, Martha Wagner, Brad Johnson, Mary Styers, Derek Friday, Justin Williams, and Barbara King. Each nominee was presented to the
audience through a slide show of photos of them at work and/or at play. The
three winners are pictured here with the person who placed their names in nomination.
Carolyn Coppedge awarded the “Unsung Hero” to her colleague Martha Wagner. Brad Johnson nominated both Diana Karczmarczyk and Justin Williams, the winners of “Employee of the Year” and “Team Player” respectively. Each of the three winners were awarded a handsome personalized plaque and a $200 gift certificate from Friendly Center.
